Description
The CN3791 MPPT Solar Charging Controller Module is designed for charging a single-cell 3.7V lithium-ion or lithium-polymer battery from a solar panel or compatible DC power source. It uses the CN3791 switching charge controller and supports a regulated 4.2V charging voltage for standard 1S lithium batteries. Its Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) functionality helps make better use of available solar-panel power by maintaining the panel near a preset operating point. This makes the module suitable for solar-powered IoT devices, remote sensors, monitoring systems, portable electronics, and DIY renewable-energy projects. Depending on the module version, it can be used with 5V, 6V, 9V or 12V nominal solar panels, provided the actual input voltage remains within the module's supported limits. The module is a battery charger, not a battery protection board. For projects using unprotected lithium cells, a suitable 1S battery protection circuit is recommended.
