Development Boards

The development board is the brain of your build. We stock the Arduino family — Uno, Nano, Mega 2560, Pro Mini — alongside ESP32 and ESP8266 boards for anything that needs WiFi or Bluetooth, plus the shields and expansion boards that make wiring them up less painful.

If this is your first board, an Arduino Uno is still the sensible starting point: the pin layout matches nearly every tutorial and shield you will find, it survives beginner mistakes better than most, and it runs at 5V which keeps sensor wiring simple. Move to a Nano when you want the same capability in something small enough to solder into a finished project. Choose an ESP32 when the project needs to talk to a phone, a dashboard or the internet — it brings WiFi and Bluetooth on-chip, has far more memory and processing power, and costs little more, at the cost of running at 3.3V and needing a bit more care with sensor voltages. Pick a Mega 2560 when you simply run out of pins.
