Terms & conditions

Who you are dealing with

These terms cover purchases from ArduinoTech Kenya, Travis Business Center, 3rd Floor Room A3, Mfangano Street, Nairobi CBD (same building as Quickmart Mfangano, behind Afya Center). Placing an order means you accept them. Questions before you buy are always welcome on +254 724 011 572.

Orders and stock

An order is an offer to buy. It is accepted once we confirm it, and we may decline an order if an item turns out to be unavailable or a price is clearly wrong.

Our counter and this website share one stock list, but an item can still sell in the shop moments before your order arrives. If that happens we will tell you promptly and either hold the item until restock, suggest an equivalent, or refund you in full β€” your choice.

Prices and payment

Prices are in Kenyan Shillings and include any applicable tax unless stated otherwise. Prices can change, but the price shown when we confirm your order is the price you pay.

Payment is by M-Pesa to Paybill 247247, account 555070, or in cash when you collect. Orders are prepared once payment is confirmed. We never ask for your M-Pesa PIN, and nobody from ArduinoTech will ever phone to request it.

Delivery and collection

Delivery is KSh300.00 and free on orders over KSh10,000.00. Nairobi orders usually arrive the same day; elsewhere in Kenya takes one to three days. Those are honest estimates, not guarantees β€” couriers and weather occasionally disagree with us. Collection from our Mfangano Street shop is free.

Returns and warranty

Faulty or wrongly supplied items are replaced or refunded in full. Unused items in original packaging can be returned within 7 days. Components that have been soldered, modified or damaged by incorrect voltage cannot be returned, for reasons we explain in full on the returns page, which forms part of these terms.

3D printing

When you send a design you confirm you have the right to have it printed. We will not print anything unlawful, anything that infringes someone else's design or trademark, or any part of a weapon.

We quote before printing and nothing is charged until you approve. 3D printing is a physical process with real tolerances: dimensions can vary slightly, and layer lines and support marks are normal. Because each job is made specifically for you, printed items are not covered by the change-of-mind return above β€” though we will always put right a print that fails through our own error. Your design remains yours; we use it only to quote and print your job.

Using the components

The parts we sell are electronic components intended for prototyping, education and construction by people who understand them. You are responsible for how they are used, for wiring them safely, and for anything you build. Anything involving mains electricity should be checked by a competent person. Nothing we sell is certified for medical, automotive, aviation or life-safety use, and it should not be used that way.

Guidance we give you

We are happy to recommend parts for a project, and our tutorials are written to be accurate and genuinely useful. They are guidance, not a guarantee that a particular design will work. Test your own circuits before relying on them.

Liability

Our responsibility for any order is limited to the value of that order. We are not liable for indirect losses such as lost time, lost profit or damage to other equipment. Nothing here limits rights you have under Kenyan consumer law, which we do not attempt to override.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. If something goes wrong, please talk to us first β€” almost everything is settled with a phone call. See also our privacy policy and returns policy.
