The MQ-3 Alcohol Sensor Module is a highly sensitive gas detection module designed to detect alcohol vapor in the air. The module uses a semiconductor gas sensor that changes its resistance when exposed to alcohol vapor. An onboard comparator circuit converts this change into both analog and digital outputs, making it easy to interface with Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi, STM32, and other microcontrollers.
The MQ-3 sensor is most sensitive to alcohol and ethanol vapors, but it can also respond slightly to smoke, benzine, and some other gases. The adjustable potentiometer allows you to set the detection threshold manually. When the concentration rises above the selected level, the digital output activates and the onboard LED usually turns on.
